April
7, 2012 - The season debut for Ross White took place
at Cleveland Speedway for the 17th annual Shamrock
50 Southern All-Stars event. The debut was a bit
of a rough outing.
Track
conditions played a trick on a number of race teams
during qualifying. The usual high line around the
track was already hard and slick when qualifying
rolled around. There was plenty of moisture and
most drivers opted the low line. Ross had some trouble
with that low line and qualified near the back of
the line.
Ross
didn't make the race through a last chance heat
race. But as that heat race went on, the high line
started to come back in. Ross made it into the race
via a series provisional. He used the high line
to get a good rythm during the race and made some
forward progress. Ross earned a respectable 14th
place finish.
